It does'nt get much better than this.......

I have been in Val D'Isere with my family Arif, Lucy nephew Rafi and nieces Inara & Sefia  for some skiing it won't be long before the youngsters are rippin the slopes with a ragged Uncle following.

The week was mixed with low cloud, snow - powder and sunshine, we skied pistes, powder, off piste, trees, crud, bump fests.................. it was awesome. The best thing is being able to ski withe the family. it was the UK half term last week, and the French half term this week so i guess the popular resorts and slopes will be busy.

Above Rafi.................... how cool

Above Arif and Lucy skiing the tightest Blue I've ever seen in fresh powder

Chamonix - Pre du Rocher

Today I joined Alison and James in Chamonix it was uber cold again, coming over the Col de Montets the temperature gauge struck -19.

We decide to ski the Pre du Rocher from thePlan de L'Aiguille mid station there was a most excellent amount on fluffy powder higher up which was great, as we descended through the trees it became a little more narrow so the short tight turn and control switch was flicked, although I felt I was still hanging on a little tight a great 1300m of decent.

The picture shows James and Alison at the top just about to launch into the top section.

A little chilly out.....................

The temperature has plummeted over the last few days and it has continue to snow the powder is white and fluffy and a pleasure to ski on. Today I had a blast round the powder around the Villars resort, the temperature read out on the car said -12 in the car park so with some altitude and a bit of wind it was a little chilly out.
 The drive to work

 Powder search .................... and find

The snow/freezing level is down to the valley.  Long may it last. Although care is still need to avoid the danger spots as the last picture shows.

I think this says alot

I watched this clip it made me laugh, but the importance of  snow & avalanche understanding just cant be underestimated........................
